The following images concern and describe death. Some pictures seem to depict a sort of crime scene, results of brutal crimes that give the creeps so much that the viewer is hardly able to look at them; some others pictures seem to depict peaceful places where death is there, but it blends with the place, becoming acceptable, almost harmonious. A dead fox on a busy highway and another one dead on a deserted country road. Two similar images, the same subject and a similar setting, but really different in the final result. A cow’s carcass becomes a monument to death, in harmony with the place: a biodegradable, archaeological finding on the Nebrodi mountains. By contrast, a dog’s carcass hanged on a tree, near the countries of Campobello di Licata, becomes a cruel and violent proof of the brutal human insanity.
